(Senior) Learning Systems Administrator*

The mission of Software AG’s Product Enablement is to share knowledge with learners that results in successful outcomes for our customers, partners and employees. 

As part of a forward-looking Product Enablement team, the Senior Learning Systems Administrator* will be an integral part of the team, working closely with other members of the Product Enablement team to effectively use technology to enable user-experience-centered learning across Software AG.

The Senior Learning Systems Administrator* is responsible for the functional system administration and operational support of our enterprise learning systems and integrated platforms. You will be the primary functional lead and subject matter expert, overseeing the design, development, implementation, integration, delivery and maintenance of our learning systems to ensure uninterrupted operations and access for our learners. The primary systems you will be supporting include but are not limited to Totara Learn (LMS), Credly, Allego and ProctorU. You will also play a key role in any future enhancement or integration.

Ideally, you are an experienced subject matter expert in learning systems administration with expert functional experience working with Totara. You will also have proven agile experience using modern approaches to solving problems. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee and provide system administration, configuration and support for Software AG’s learning technology and the deployment of new courses
  • Support learner interface issues, challenges, navigability obstacles related to the system, etc.
  • Act as the key liaison with stakeholders in translating business and user needs into functional requirements and recommended platform solutions
  • Work with platform development partners to support of customization efforts
  • Perform system workflow customization, process automation, report development, learner communication and dashboard creation
  • Work with the Learner Experience Technical Lead to support system upgrades, testing, migrations and integrations
  • Provide Tier 2 platform support, diagnosing and resolving platform issues for learners
  • Use learning data metrics to identify trends, insights and recommendations to improve the overall learning experience
  • Stay current with learning technology trends making recommendations to management for critical technology changes that establish Software AG as a market leader and produce a positive experience for learners
  • Provide training and guidance for junior staff and other team members, including walk throughs/demos to showcase new functionality
  • Oversee the development of up-to-date documentation and resource guides, documenting operational procedures, changes, and policies

  • Relevant degree or suitable qualification.
  • Experience in training (development), technical authoring or consulting experience (3 years +)
  • Knowledge/experience in at least one modern programming language like Java and/or Python (more a plus)
  • Basic knowledge/experience in cloud-native technologies like Docker and Kubernetes would be a plus
  • Practical experience in teaching and/or delivery of Software AG’s webMethods product suite solutions (at least one, more a plus):
    • On-Premise Integration Server, Designer & Hybrid Integration and/or webMethods Microservice Runtime
    • webMethods.io

  • Good presentation and communication skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Creative thinking with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively
  • Knowledge of, or strong interest in the production of video-based training courses 
  • Experience in working with international and intercultural teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize projects with multiple tasks, people and deadlines
  • Willingness to be flexible with your work schedule and balance priorities as the situation requires
  • Highly motivated, customer-centric focus with a passion for excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivated as well as meet high quality requirements
