For our European Headquarters in Burscheid (near Cologne) we are currently seeking to recruit a

Training Developer (m/f/i/t)

The training developer is responsible for developing learning and development solutions pertaining to specific subjects. We are looking for someone who can design the best delivery method for the content provided using methods such as; eLearning, video, ILT, VILT and micro learnings.

Responsibilities
* Analyze and interpret user requirements, technical specifications, application features, and functions to translate them into appropriate training formats.
* Design training materials for WBT, ILT, as well as, other modalities using provided baseline content and established templates incorporating learning activities, scenario-based activities and gaming.
* Leverage Articulate Storyline 2 (as needed) to develop web-based learning solutions.
* Configure and test learning activities (Web-Based, Instructor-Led, Virtual, etc.) for use in the SumTotal LMS.
* Provide subject matter expertise to create training programs including classroom, interactive, and web-based course production. Recommend strategies to improve instructional effectiveness.
* Coach and support subject matter experts in selection and translation of content to effectively tell their story.
* Collaborate with project leads to collect content for training solutions and obtain approval of completed solution.
* Create engaging learning activities and compelling curriculum content, lessons, and tasks that embed technology to enhance content and deeper learning.
* Apply adult learning theory to produce interactive and relevant content.
* Leverage and enhance LMS functionality to enhance the user experience and delivery of content.
* Design and maintain learning site (SharePoint) providing relevant content that is engaging and user friendly.
* Develop and design graphics and layouts as needed.
* Develop and implement training effectiveness measures. Evaluate the effectiveness of instruction and instructional materials.
* Assist in identifying appropriate training courses based upon job roles or tasks
* Performs other training activities as requested. Occasional facilitation may be required.

* Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design or related field.
* Several years’ experience in Instructional Design.
* Experience designing blended learning solutions with expertise i

* Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design or related field.
* Several years’ experience in Instructional Design.
* Experience designing blended learning solutions with expertise in designing instructor led and eLearning courses.
* Several years’ experience using eLearning authoring tools such Captivate, Articulate or similar.
* Experience using Learning Management Systems.
* Several years’ of learning & development experience in a corporate setting, manufacturing environment preferred.
* Able to understand business and training needs and translate them into creative and engaging training solutions.
* Ability to work individually with project leads to design and develop appropriate learning content with minimal supervision.
* Well versed in current industry training standards and practices, research and learning theory.   Thorough knowledge of adult learning concepts.
* Attention to detail in producing, writing and proofing all coursework materials to ensure consistency in form, format, and function.
* Great attitude. Team player. Willingness to learn.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to create and maintain reliable relationships with relevant stakeholders.
* Strong influence and persuasion skills to align departments to L&D standards and strategy.  
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
* Must provide a portfolio of work and employment references available for review.
* Business English proficiency (C1, level) required, German skills preferred, additional languages a plus
